Did you know that almost 600,000 Americans die of cardiovascular diseases each year? The main risk factors for cardiovascular disease are high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, obesity, and being physically inactive. Also, New Jersey has the 27th highest death rate from cardiovascular disease in the country.

Heart Disease Prevention and Care

Heart disease is the Number 1 Killer in the state of New Jersey. Many people may have an undiagnosed cardiovascular condition and not know until it’s too late. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in order to reduce your chances of heart disease it is helpful to: quit smoking, know your blood pressure, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you should be tested for diabetes, checking cholesterol and triglycerides, limiting alcohol, lowering stress level, and making healthy food choices.

Join us as we fight to end heart disease! We are raising awareness and funds for organizations in support of efforts to educate the public and the medical community about cardiovascular health.
